FAQs

DGATV’s Trails are OPEN (2021)

DGATV’s Executive along with Grey and Dufferin counties are happy to announce that DGATV’s trails are OPEN effective Friday, June 11, 2021 for DGATV’s 15th season!

Dufferin Grey ATV Club’s (DGATV) typical season extends from May 1st to November 30th (or first snowfall).  However, due to the governments’ pandemic response, DGATV’s trails were closed for the first part of the season.

The Government of Ontario’s province-wide Stay-at-Home order expired on June 2, 2021 but Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopen plan didn’t take effect until June 11th (revised from June 14th) further delaying the opening.

Grey County reminds riders to be in compliance with the distancing rules, and to adhere to all other rules (e.g. limits on social gatherings, if sharing a machine must be from same household, etc.).

Now that the trails are open, don’t forget to check the OFATV trails map or the QuadON smart phone application for active updates re: construction and routes under maintenance.

Happy trails 🙂

Trail Opening (2021) – Harkaway Forest Tract

DGATV is pleased to announce that the Harkaway Forest Tract is open to ATVs and side-by-sides effective Tuesday-following-the-Victoria Day-weekend (May 25, 2021).

A nature trail through hardwoods and evergreens, this 2-km multi-use trail is used by hikers, horseback riders; ATVs in the summer, and snowmobiles in the winter.

Harkaway Forest is located east of the Robson Road trail and is owned by Grey County.

ATVs and side-by-sides with a maximum width of 54″ are permitted in the forest.

Parking is located off the Townline just north of Markdale.

Take care because Harkaway Forest is open to hunters at certain times of the year.

The tract closes October 15th or snow, whatever comes first.
