President Dave Ernest was able to meet up with the CVFR LRRP GBOS to present them with a cheque for $1,020 consisting of proceeds and donations from DGATV’s members and guests from our Canada Day fundraising ride. The money will go towards helping Veterans in need in Grey and Bruce counties.
Special thanks to all who attended the ride and helped raise money for such a great cause.

In 2020 DGATV’s Board of Directors pledged to support and protect the trumpeter swans that live by the trail during the summer.
To that end, Dave E. built a floating platform for Chatsworth Marsh, which he and volunteers installed on July 29th.
Hopefully the swans will take to preening themselves in the sun on the platform and not on the trail.

Join us on this popular (albeit usually wet) Canada Day Ride!
Registration for the ride is 9am with scheduled start at 10am.
Meet us at the Markdale parking lot on the rail line.
BYOL – bring your own lunch (snacks and drinks).
The trail route is an easy mix of public and private properties including the rail trail and road running.
This ride is open to OFATV members and non-members. A day pass for non-members will be available for purchase at a cost of $20. Annual OFATV/DGATV memberships can be purchased online.
Side-by-sides are welcome.
As with any ride, it is advisable to dress appropriately and have extra fuel, drinking water, snack, drinks, rain gear, bug spray, basic repair tools, bandaids, compass, map and cell phone on hand. Note that there may not be cell service in the area. Prepare for it to be HOT & DUSTY if this weather keeps up. Bring lots of water and face covering (goggles & bandanna or full helmet recommended).
Don’t forget to decorate your bike and show your true Canadian colours!
We look forward to seeing you on the trail and hope you have a great ride.
